Established under Indonesian Law as one of Mitsubishi Materials Group on July 7, 1997 (based on approval date from The Ministry of Justice’s).
As per February 1st 2002, the company name changed from “PT MSIL Indonesia” to “PT. SUMCO INDONESIA” in connection with silicon wafer industry consolidation between Mitsubishi Materials Corporation and Sumitomo Metal Industries Ltd. into “SUMITOMO MITSUBISHI SILICON CORPORATION (SUMCO)”.
As of August 1st 2005 the Shareholder of PT. SUMCO INDONESIA changed from “SUMITOMO MITSUBISHI SILICON CORPORATION” to “SUMCO CORPORATION”.
BUSINESS DESCRIPTION Capable to produce 6 inch and 5 inch silicon wafers (monthly capacity 270,000 pieces). The silicon ingots as the raw material are imported from SUMCO Corporation Japan and SUMCO Phoenix. The ingots are processed into silicon wafers and 100% exported to world wide.
We have obtained qualification from companies in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, America and Singapore.
Regarding Silicon Wafer production, our company is the first in Indonesia and has the first class 100 clean room in Indonesia.
FACTORY LOCATION
The factory is located in MM21000 Industrial Town, Cikarang Barat Bekasi – West Java (an Industrial Town developed by MMID, a joint company between Marubeni and Manunggal Group). The factory is located approximately 30 km east of central Jakarta.
